Lorde!

Today I was learning about Lorde and what she has done in her past and some facts. i have used Picktochart to make this. It is a website that you can use to make posters or presentations.
I enjoyed finding out some of the facts about Lorde because there were many different facts to chooses from. I found it challenging to write the facts in my own words trying not to use to much complicated.
Next time I would change the concept and background of the poster.

Highlights Of The Year!

Passed some of the Mondays with Mrs Torrie we made a little movie about our highlights of the year.
I enjoyed making this because I have had so much highlights to put in here from the year. I also enjoyed the different concepts and colours we could choose within our movie.
I found it challenging to even make the movie Itself because the different photos that where hard to find around in my drive. Usually i would try to find the photos I liked most but I liked a lot of photos so it was a challenge just to choose the photos that we could use.
Next time I would change the colours and transitions. The wording could be a little better too.

Kawakawa Facts

Today I was learning about the Kawakawa leaves and what some of the uses are. There is some instructions to make Kawakawa Cough Syrup and what It's used for.
I enjoyed the making of the cough syrup and finding out facts that I didn't know but I have known about the Kawkawa for some time.
I found it challenging to think, think and THINK!! Then pop an idea had strung out of nowhere

Next time I would change the background and font other than that I don't know what I would change.

Impossible Acts!

Today I was learning how to make a fake background/ Something impossible at school. Again we used the tool RemoveBg  We used our chrombook camera to take a photo and edit.
I enjoyed making a fake image at school. It was fun to use the tool again.
I found it challenging to think of an idea to pop into my head but then all of a sudden I got an idea.
Next time I would change the idea of my fake image. It was a bit bland to think of the idea

Cooking Tech!

This term, the year six's have been in cooking tech and this is our last tech day of term 3. We have made muffins, pancakes, pizza, cinnamon scrolls, Louise slice, Potato curry and chapatis, and the list goes on. Past these weeks we have learned skills as well, the weeks flew by and the pattern was Savoury, Savoury, Sweet, here are some photos of the things we made passed the term.

Highland Cows Adventure!

Today I was learning how to make an animation. we used any tools for our mascot to go to a country or something else.
I enjoyed putting him inside the aeroplane and him drinking some juice. It's really fun and creative to use it because you can use anything.
I found it challenging to think of what to do in the beginning but i got an idea.

Next time I would change the amount of slides.

Scottish Highland Mascot

Today I was learning how to make a mascot for Scotland. We were partnered with another person. I was partnered with Liana.
I enjoyed making the flag and adding some extra detail to the Highland cattle.
I found it challenging to make the thistle because the corners were so sharp and it ended off half way through the polyline
Next time I would change maybe the colours or the size of the kilt. Other than that the mascot is amazing in my opinion.

Eel adventure

Last Tuesday on the 27th, Room 4 went down to the Hustlers and fed the Longfin eels  fresh venison.

There was about 4 to 5 big ones. We fed them until all the meat was gone, using a stick, harakeke or even our hands!

It was very interesting to see the eels up close.

Today I was learning to use the webcam on my chrome book. Removebg was the app that we used to remove the background smoothly and clear, so it looks life like.
I enjoyed using the app because it has outstanding results,  plus it lets you choose backgrounds and restore your background.
I found it challenging to think of something because I like to do many things, but I got an idea to do something that I enjoy doing

Twinkling Stars And Arty Animation

Today I was learning about how to create an animation on Brush Ninja. I enjoyed making the animation about Matariki and using different tools. I found it challenging to draw some of the lines where I needed them but I eventually got the hang of it. My digital learning object shows that we made an animation about Matariki. Next time I would change the speed, lines and the size of the stars.

Dream Writing!

Dream House Writing!
We have used our imagination to create descriptive writing about our dream house, vehicle, superpower or even our dream menu! We have created this writing by dreaming big and use all of your imagination. This is what we have finished on Monday. This writing shows how we as a class have used this word dream big in this writing.




My Dream House

This is my dream house, come inside don’t worry you can go swimming, bowling, skiing and much more stuff that will delight you.

My delightful dream house is eight stories high with hot pools on every floor. the colouring is multicoloured plus did I mention Six water slides rush down into separate indoor pools for a relaxing time? There are slides that lead to zoos and aquariums, this is a ginormous dome house with see through windows but don’t worry people can’t see inside.

There are giant rooms the size of classrooms just to relax in on the outside and inside, they also have balconies to see a wonderful views. There is an art gallery to look at famous paintings. There are kitchens some for show some for cooking.

There is a little red panda that roams the house with a giant griffin as a friend.

A golden steam that's filled with chocolate, and at the tippy top of the house is a giant tree that grow fruit of all kinds! There is also a giant amusement park, and also an enormous mountain to go skiing on. Oh and it a hologram so if you crash you fall onto soft mattress. That’s all inside and outside my house it is big, huge or even enormous that’s all I can tell you.

Awesome Respect!

Today I have Finished a poster that represents Respect. Respect means that you treat and speak to other the way you want to be spoken to and treated. What Respect feels and sounds like to others that are new to our school. we all have to Respect others feelings and cultures, and having a positive attitude towards others an yourself.

This poster is what Respect is about to yourself and to others. What Respect means to me is that you care and Respect others for who they are. When someone is in need don't be afraid to help them, or if you are in need don't be scared to ask for help. letting someone lay or join in what you are doing. This poster was created to teach anyone to be kind and to Respect to others.

Representing Respect is what we need to most to teach other people actions that help others. This is our value, Matawai schools value for the term. We all Respect, speak each other at Matawai school, and treat each other equally. Using positiveness is a good example to teach other people Respect and kindness. When you do something nice to someone that kindness caries on towards the rest of there day. Then to another and another and so on. So doing one single nice thing leads onto someone that carries that kindness.

Kia ora, my name is Emerald. I'm a year 6 and I attend Matawai school. My class is room four and I play for the ukulele group. I have 6 family members Including me. I am Maori and from Gisborne. I have two sisters and one brother.

I enjoy doing mathematics and I enjoy reading. I love to challenge myself with new things. My personal goals for this year are to improve with my handwriting and writing. I am good at mathematics, especially multiplication and division. My challenges are to get work completed a little faster in my writing and reading tasks so finished on time.

I am looking forward to our group to doing the ukulele at the war memorial theatre And school trips for this year. Someone that inspires me is Taika Waititi because he has achieved a lot and creates amazing stories and films
