Scottish Highland Mascot

Today I was learning how to make a mascot for Scotland. We were partnered with another person. I was partnered with Liana.
I enjoyed making the flag and adding some extra detail to the Highland cattle.
I found it challenging to make the thistle because the corners were so sharp and it ended off half way through the polyline
Next time I would change maybe the colours or the size of the kilt. Other than that the mascot is amazing in my opinion.
My digital learning object show I am a stepping up learner

  1. Kia ora Emerald,
Wow! You sure covered all the criteria in this creation. I could see from the comments in the drawing that you and Liana communicated and made decisions together as you were creating your mascot for a Rugby World Cup team.
This mascot is unmistakably Scottish. Now I wonder what is in store next week? What do you think we are we going to do with our mascots in our Rugby World Cup theme?

  2. Kia ora Emerald, my name is Cam, I'm a facilitator in the Kootuitui ki Papakura cluster. I'm so glad that Mrs Torrie shared your blog post about the mascot you and Liana created together. You must have been very patient to do such a good job, as the polyline and curve tools can be quite frustrating to use at times. I love how you incorporated the Scottish icons in a creative way, and how the horns of the cow are a bit wonky. There are some Scottish highland cattle that live up the road from me, and my favourite one has one horn that points up and the other that points down. How did you and Liana share the work on this collaborative task?

  3. Kia ora Emerald, my name is Amie and I work as a facilitator, doing what Mrs Torrie does, in other schools in the Gisborne area. I'm also related to Liana! You have both done such a wonderful job collaborating on your amazing Google Drawing. I really love how much detail you've added and the way you've added all these amazing details and kept it within a similar theme. You've done a great job with the polyline tools and it would be so helpful for other learners if you could create a screencast explaining how they can best use the tools. Tips from learners like you who are using them well are so helpful! Keep up the wonderful blogging!

    1. Kia ora Amie,
I did't know that you and Liana were related but you two must have so much in common. Me and Liana had to be really patience to this as you did tell. Polyline tools are best used for not sharp corners and not short turns curve tools are best for sharp corners and short turns. I will take your advise and try to make a screencast for the idea that you had.

    1. Kia ora Jack,
I am Emerald from Matawai school. If you have by any chance. May I see what you did on your blog for this project? Liana was the one who made the highland cow (If you were wondering) while I made the thistle.
